Celebrations of Life

You have lost someone you love dearly.  There is a hole in your heart and a desire to pay tribute to the one you’ve lost.  To remember and honour, laugh and cry, share stories and connect with others who are also feeling this loss.  Your desire to do this is natural — since the beginning of time, humans have taken comfort in rituals that acknowledge their loss and pay tribute to the spirit of their loved one.

You want a unique and personalized celebration of the life of your loved one. Not a traditional funeral, but something that honours and remembers in a fresh way that still feels sacred.

I can help you.  I create customized ceremonies that lovingly remember the person who has passed in a way that distinctively reflects them.  What was important to your loved one?  What did he or she love?  How can you truly honour and memorialize them?  It may be a barbeque and planting of a memorial garden.  Or a hike to release the ashes of your loved one on a favourite trail.  Or a quirky gathering that is actually a perfect reflection of the crazy fun-loving person you’ve lost, bringing both a smile to your lips and a tear to your eye.

I’ll take my cues from you in creating a tribute that combines your memories and stories with moving readings, soulful music and poignant rituals…something that uniquely expresses your loved one.  The result will be a meaningful, sacred tribute that suits you and your beloved perfectly.  You’ll be comforted by the sweet ambiance of the ceremony and the feeling that you’ve honoured your loved one well.

As an Interfaith Minister, I honour the diversity of faith traditions and see that they all really begin and end with Love.  I create a space to experience that Love, whether it includes elements of a religion or a simple reverence for the mystery of Love and Life.

If you think that I may be the right person to create a celebration of the life of your loved one, please contact me.

I have known Margaret Tiveron for 25 years in the capacity of colleague and friend. She goes above and beyond all commitments and brings fresh ideas, extraordinary compassion and often needed warm humor to the table.

Most recently I had the privilege of sharing the duties of Master of Ceremonies with Margaret at my nephew’s Celebration of Life Memorial. Margaret is not only dedicated and skilled at her work; she makes everyone feel their very best no matter what the context is for the gathering.
